The inspiration for When the Sea Remembers was born from the haunting power of the Wild Atlantic Ocean not far from me, its endless motion, its untold stories, and the way it holds the weight of memory. Standing on the rugged western coast in Doolin Co Clare, I felt the wind rise and the sea breathe, as though it remembered every soul it had ever touched. That feeling became this painting. The book and cup on the table speak of presence and absence, of someone who has gone, but the ship in the distant mist is the symbol of another love return.
